Monsoon Mike's Cardboard Tiki Bar
After Christmas 2019 my wife and I had a ton of cardboard boxes leftover. So did all of our friends and family. Frustrated by so much waste, we decided to take it and upcycle it into a cool space in our garage. We settled on a Tiki Bar. Being big fans of Trader Sam's at Disneyland, we wanted our bar to be filled with all sorts of magic and special effects. Soon COVID lockdowns hit and gave us plenty of time to work on it. Our garage was quickly filled with a mess of cardboard. Slowly the cardboard started to look like something with the help of our little kids..... The walls were all framed up with wood I already had or walls left over from previous Halloweens. One of the first thing we built was an 8 foot tall tiki mountain (out of cardboard) with projection mapped lava and a fire illusion in its mouth.
